I bought this back in Feb, 2011. I finally tested this piece 7-30-11 and fifteen rounds later, it sheered off! I found most of the muzzle break about ten yards from where I was shooting. Nobody was hurt during the testing of this item, thankfully. I did find that it worked quite well before it blew up. I had a pretty tight grouping and much less recoil with the device attached. That extra weight really did compensate for the fact that I removed the bayonet. For those of you familiar enough with the Mosin, it was designed to fire with the bayonet extended, which, when you remove it, it does screw with the harmonics of the barrel, which in turn gives your gun a little less accuracy over long distances. Sighting in my scope sans the muzzle brake proved to be a nightmare, and I decided to pack it up for the day, and will return with either a new muzzle brake from here, or from another vendor.
